Barbarians
2020
Whale provide production support to Netflix for the launch of the global hit Barbarians in 2020. Throughout the process Whale advised Netflix on feasibility and cost-effectiveness, and helped to produce elements of the final campaign.
Working with Mocean in Los Angeles and The Forge in London, we developed the initial teaser for the show, viewed millions of times within days of its release, recreating the shows characters as Roman-style sculptures.
Post launch, to celebrate the show's global success, we reached out to a group of home-made/sweded film makers during lock down to re-create their version of the Barbarians trailer. The result is a highly crafted, closely captured, fun take off of the Barbarians trailer. We worked with the very talented James Willis to direct a handful of very talent sweded film makers from all over the world to make this film for Netflix’s global social channels.
